Border Chainsaw and Lawnmower services was first established in 1974 by Ian and Helen Cowe, the business stayed within the family until January 2019, over the 27 years of which the business was run in the family by Ian’s son Graeme and his wife Lesley who proudly retired during the sale of the business. In January 2019 the business was acquired by Borders based business Pearsons of Duns Ltd, who were picked as the perfect suitors for the business.

Pearsons of Duns celebrated their 100th year in business the following year. Built in the early days as a Solid Fuel Merchant, which later diversified to have a large portfolio of business outlets in Duns. A great range of services including a Builders Merchants, Garden Centre, Kitchen/Stove Showroom, POD Van Hire & Self Storage & The Potting Shed Restaurant. 

The acquisition of Border Chainsaw and Lawnmower Services works hand in hand with their ever-expanding Garden Centre in Duns. Which now stocks some of our key brands like Stihl, Husqvarna and Mountfield. 

Border Chainsaw and Lawnmower Services boast a fantastic workshop that is setup for service and repairs of all kinds of forest and garden machinery. We have 4 members of staff in our workshop team, with over 70 years’ experience between them. We are also very proud to have a Briggs and Stratton Master technician, Stihl Advanced Technician (one of only 2 in Scotland) and a robotic installation specialist. 

We are approved dealers for Stihl, Husqvarna Forest and Garden, Mountfield and Stiga lawnmowers, Ferris Commercial mowers, Ego cordless equipment and Stihl fuels. We stock a large range of these machines in our showroom in Earlston.
