The GTA 40 is STIHL’s first dedicated battery-powered pruner for professional use. Part of the AS System and powered by 2x AS 2 lithium-ion batteries. Ideal for tree and shrub care, professional work in horticulture and landscaping as well as processing wood on construction sites and working in tree canopies or on crown reduction tasks.

The powerful EC engine and ¼” PM3 saw chain enables clean cutting and the variable chain speed allows full control of the cutting speed during use. The GTA 40 also has a sprocket cover with side-mounted chain tensioning and automatic chain lubrication, as well as a tool-free chain oil tank with sufficient volume for use with 6x AS 2 batteries. A soft rubberised handle and upper grip helps prevent slipping during use. The claw-shaped deflector at the top of the tool separates the upper grip area from the cutting attachment. Please be aware that the GTA 40 has been designed for use with 2 hands. Can be used by both right and left-handed users thanks to the rocker on both sides of the tool. An attachment ring lets you hook the tool on a belt for easy access whether you are working in the air or on the ground. Also available is the GTA 40 holster for quick access during work. 

The GTA 40 uses 2x AS 2 batteries which are discharged in parallel. The tool cannot be used with only one battery. The charge level indicator of the tool is located on the top of the tool in an easy-to-read position.
